What is 3R repeater?
3R repeater means Regeneration, Reshaping. the optical signal is convertered into electrical signal. The electrical signal will be reclocked and retiming, reshape its signal, then regenerate new signal and convert to optical signal.
Question: Can I use 40G ER4 for port 1 and 40G PLR4 for port 2?
Answer: Yes. The different type 40G QSFP module can be inserted in the QSFP extender. SR4/LR4/ER4 all can be supported.
