The GPON/EPON ONU SFP Module offers an advanced solution for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) deployments. This compact, high-performance module integrates both optics and the necessary electronics for a seamless ONU experience. With its bi-directional data link, the BD-1234-SPM supports 1244Mbps transmit (TX) and 2488Mbps receive (RX) speeds, making it ideal for high-speed internet and communication networks.

This “PON on a Stick” technology simplifies deployment by providing a plug-and-play experience via auto-discovery and configuration. Compatible with both GPON and EPON systems. It automatically detects and connects to the correct OLT type, ensuring flexibility and convenience. The module operates efficiently across a wide temperature range, from 0 to 70°C for commercial-grade applications and -40 to 85°C for industrial use.

Built to meet SFP MSA compliance and featuring digital diagnostic monitoring (SFF-8472 compatible), the GPON/EPON ONU SFP is designed for easy integration with various networking equipment such as switches, routers, and PBXs, providing a reliable and cost-effective ONU solution.

GPON ONU SFP Features & Functions

• All-in-One ONU Design:

Integrates a complete GPON ONU with MAC inside a standard SFP receptacle (SC/UPC connector), eliminating the need for external power adapters and enclosures.

• Dual-Mode GPON/EPON Operation:

Automatically detects and establishes links with both GPON and EPON OLTs, offering maximum deployment flexibility (based on ITU-T G.984 and EPON OAM standards).

• High-Speed Data Transmission:

Supports asymmetric line rates of TX: 1.244Gbps / RX: 2.488Gbps for GPON, using a 1310nm DFB burst mode transmitter and a 1490nm APD-TIA receiver.

• Extensive OLT Compatibility:

Interoperable with major OLT vendors including Huawei, ZTE, and Fiberhome, ensuring smooth integration into existing networks.

• Advanced Management & Monitoring:

Features a digital diagnostic monitoring interface (SFF-8472 compliant) and supports remote management via OMCI (ITU-T G.988) for status monitoring and configuration.

• Simple Configuration & Customization:

Allows manual changes to the module’s serial number and firmware upgrades via a user-friendly web GUI or Telnet for easy maintenance.
