Both the Huawei MA5608T and Huawei MA5800X2 are Huawei GPON OLTs with two service slots, but the Huawei MA5608T is part of the Huawei MA5600T series, the world’s first OLT, whereas the Huawei MA5800X2 is part of the Huawei MA5800 series, Huawei’s next-generation OLT.
You may have heard that the Huawei MA5800X2 performs better than the Huawei MA5608T, implying that it is more expensive, but do you know how the Huawei MA5800X2 outperforms the Huawei MA5608T? What are the similarities and differences between the Huawei MA5608T and the Huawei MA5800X2? How do I select the best configuration? Which one will best meet your needs while saving your network capital? In this article, we will talk about these two Huawei GPON OLTs.
Huawei MA5600T OLT GPON Series
The Huawei SmartAX MA5600T is the world’s first OLT to combine aggregation switch and edge router functionality. For business customers, it can provide high density GE/10GE interfaces for cascading remote access equipment, triple play service, ATM/Ethernet/ TDM leased line services, and high precision clock, as well as high density Ethernet P2P, GPON, 10GPON optical access. The Huawei MA5600T simplifies network architecture, improves network reliability, and reduces TCO.
The Huawei MA5600T series product comes in three different frame types. MA5680T has 16 service slots, MA5683T has 6 service slots, and Huawei MA5608T has 2 service slots. MA5680T, MA5683T, and MA5608T all have the same service card and software.
Huawei MA5800 OLT GPON Series
Huawei MA5800 OLT is the first smart aggregation OLT in the industry to feature a distributed architecture. It’s billed as the NG-next-generation PON’s OLT. The product is intended to assist carriers in the development of networks with higher bandwidths, faster speeds, and smarter connectivity in order to provide a better service experience.
Huawei MA5800 OLT supports FTTH, FTTB, FTTC, FTTC, and distributed converged cable access platform (D-CCAP) networks by providing GPON, 10G GPON, 10GE, and P2P GE access. As a result, it can be used to aggregate all services on a single fiber network such as enterprise access, mobile backhaul, home access, and Wi-Fi hotspot backhaul scenarios.
Huawei MA5800 OLT is a network based large capacity aggregation device that aggregates traffic from ONTs, MDUs, and campus switches, simplifying network architecture and lowering OPEX.
