Description
Our Telecom High-Capacity Double-Sided Main Distribution Frame (MDF) is engineered for large-capacity telephone switching systems, providing the critical interface between internal exchange equipment and external subscriber lines. This robust solution integrates cable distribution, testing, and comprehensive safety protection within a single, reliable frame.
Telecom MDF Core Features & Specifications:
-
Dual-Sided Design: Features dedicated Cable Side Terminal Blocks (100-pair capacity) and Exchange Side Terminal Blocks (128-pair capacity) for organized, high-density cabling.
-
Reliable IDC Connection: Utilizes Insulation Displacement Connection (IDC) technology for fast, gas-tight, and reliable terminations without wire stripping.
-
Integrated Safety Protection: Supports semiconductor arrester protective units for primary over-voltage and over-current protection, safeguarding both equipment and personnel with visual alarm signaling.
-
High Performance Standards: Meets rigorous specifications for insulation resistance (>1000MΩ), dielectric strength (1000V AC withstand), and contact resistance stability across various environmental tests.
-
Modular & Durable Construction: Built with a high-strength aluminum alloy “building block” structure for easy installation, expansion, and long-term reliability in standard office environments (0°C to 40°C).
1.2.1 Cable Side Terminal Block (BD-CSTB-MDF)

- Capacity: 100 pair / terminal block
- IDC (Insulation Displacement Connection) connection mode: two wires can be terminated on each IDC connect-element
- Contacts of connect-element are normally-open, and completed circuit will be formed if protective unit is inserted
- Maintenance on one loop do not affect any other loop
- Applicable wire:
- The diameter of conductor is 0.32mm~0.6mm;
- The maximum outer diameter (including the insulation coat) is no more than 1.4mm
- Dimension (HxWxD)=170x140x152mm
1.2.2 Exchange Side Terminal Block (BD-128MDF)

- Capacity: 128 par / block
- IDC (Insulation Displacement Connection) connection mode: two wires can be terminated on each IDC connect-element
- Contacts of connect-element are normal-closed, and circuit will be open if disconnection-plug (open circuit plug) is inserted;
- Applicable wire
- The diameter of conductor is 0.32~0.6mm
- The maximum outer diameter (including the insulation coat) is no more than 1.4mm
- The maximum outer diameter (including the insulation coat) is no more than 1.4mm

Specification
Insulation resistance
Under standard test atmospheric conditions and after high-temperature test, low-temperature test, temperature change and humidity & heat test, the insulation resistance between any two unconnected wiring terminals and that between any terminal and metal fixture should not be less than 1000M
Dielectric strength
Under standard test atmospheric conditions and after high-temperature test, low-temperature test, temperature change and humidity & heat test, AC voltages with a valid value of 1000V at 45~60 Hz (approximate sine wave) can be withstood for one minute between any two unconnected wiring terminals and that between any terminal and metal fixture, without breakdown and arc.
Contact Resistance
- Contact resistance between leaf springs
Under standard test atmospheric conditions, the contact resistance between two mutually contacted leaf springs is less than or equal to 7 MQ. After high-temperature test, low-temperature test, temperature change and humidity & heat test, the increment of contact resistance is less than or equal to 3 MΩ.
- Contact resistance between termination points
Under standard test atmospheric conditions, the termination contact resistance between wires and terminals is less than or equal to 3MΩ. After high-temperature test, low-temperature test, temperature change and humidity & heat test, the increment of the contact resistance is less than or equal to 2MΩ. After wire connection test, the increment of the contact resistance is less than or equal to 2MΩ
Applicable Conducting Wires
Single-strand plastic conducting wires: core diameter is 0.32-0.60mm, the maximum outside diameter no more than 1.4mm。
Insertion force
- A) Pull-out force of a single wire along the vertical direction of the notch >25N
- B) Plug-pull life:>200 times
Flammability of plastic parts and printed circuit boards
Meeting the requirements for the flammability of plastic parts and printed circuit boards as stated in YD/T694-2004.
