Q: I understand that the Voice over Fiber Multiplexer can be configured as FXS ↔ FXS over fiber transmission. Can we connect two telephones fiber multiplexer directly (one on each side) and have both speech and ringing working properly?
A: Yes, you can order FXS device for two sites. When the phone handset at one site is picked up, the telephone at the other site will ring, and when the telephone handle at the other end is picked up, the call can be made.
Q: What is maximum distance available on single-mode fiber?
A: The fiber multiplexer can be up to 120KM distance on single-mode fiber transmission. The POTs fiber device can support 20km/40km/60km/80km/120km, you can choose the distance based on your application requirement.
Q: The E1 port on the POTS over Fiber Multiplexer is a RJ45 integrated 2-way E1. What kind of cable should I use to connect the E1 device?
A: You can use twisted pair (ordinary network cable) to connect the device, and make sure that the line sequence is correct. One end of the network cable is one RJ45 connector, and the other end is two RJ45 connectors.
