POE PSE Switch Overview

The Baudcom BD-1000M-4TX-POE series is a versatile 5-port Gigabit PoE fiber switch designed to overcome the limitations of standard network cabling. It combines the long-distance transmission capabilities of fiber optics with the convenience of high-power PoE (Power over Ethernet) in a compact device.

This all-in-one networking solution features one Gigabit SFP fiber port and four 10/100/1000Mbps RJ-45 copper ports. The fiber port allows you to extend your network backbone reliably over vast distances—up to 100 km with single-mode fiber—making it ideal for connecting buildings or remote devices. All four copper ports are compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at PoE standards and act as Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE), capable of delivering up to 60W of power per port. This makes it perfect for powering a wide array of devices such as wireless access points, IP security cameras, VoIP phones, and IoT sensors over a single Cat5e/6 cable, simplifying installations and reducing costs.

Hybrid Port Design: 1 x 1000Base-FX SFP fiber optic port (SC/FC/ST optional) + 4 x 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 Ethernet ports.

Gigabit Performance: All ports support gigabit speeds, ensuring a high-bandwidth backbone for data-intensive tasks. The copper ports operate in full-duplex mode for maximized throughput.

Flexible Fiber Options: The SFP port supports various multi-mode and single-mode fiber transceivers (wavelengths: 850nm, 1310nm, 1550nm), allowing customization for transmission distances from 550 meters up to 100 kilometers.

Reliable Hardware: Built with a 4K-entry MAC address table and 1Mb of SRAM packet buffer memory for stable performance in busy networks.

Advanced Protection: Features auto-recovery short circuit and over-current protection to safeguard both the switch and connected Powered Devices (PDs).

Global Power Supply: Accepts a wide input range of AC 100V to 240V at 47-63 Hz, ready for deployment in various regions.
