What is 3R repeater?
3R repeater means Regeneration, Reshaping. the optical signal is convertered into electrical signal. The electrical signal will be reclocked and retiming, reshape its signal, then regenerate new signal and convert to optical signal.
Q: Can the SFP+ 10G fiber converter each port support 3R?
A: Yes, every port can 3R repeater function.
Q: we will be using 10Gbps fiber SONET to 10Gbps fiber ETHERNET, can your SFP+ to SFP+ Media Converter support our application?
A: The 10G SFP+ fiber converter only physical converter, optical to electrical to optical. It do not convert the protocol. It can not work for your application. You can choose our 10GE ethernet to SDH STM-64 converter.
